Anyone with experience trading cards? I was going to try it out today. What are pros and cons? Can I trade 2-for-1 or is every trade just a 1-for-1 by default?

It’s not really used all that often any longer, @ least in game. Once you trade a card, the card you receive will become NAT.
I would advise against any 2 for 1 trades. A lot of scams happen this way.
I have traded cards many times. You can NOT trade 2 for 1, the only way that's done is by making 2 separate trades, and you leave yourself vulnerable to a scam. Every trade is 1-1.
Pros:
- Get to try new cards without having to sell on the auction house and pay tax.
- Can filter by "friends only" so you know you are trading with someone you trust.
- Can technically borrow cards to try before you buy.. but please see cons below.
Cons:
- 99% of the time, if you post a card that is of high value, you are going to get horrendous offers like useless silvers, golds, etc. People offer junk hoping that you make a mistake and accidentally click accept. Very rarely do you get a legitimate offer.
- The cards you get become NAT, and must be traded back to the original owner in order for them to become auctionable once more.
- Be careful about "borrowing" cards from friends by trading silvers for high elites. I have heard of people getting banned for doing just that, always make sure to at the least trade an elite when acquiring an elite.
