Played a guy in mut champs yesterday wanted to commend on his "troll" offense...I say troll only because some may knock him for it...ran linchpin on 1 player and recuperation on everyone else he could....nothing but runs up middle or stretch in a no huddle offense...if he got a single 1st down id end up get steamrolled unless I used timeouts to refresh players

These are the types of strategies I’d love to respect, if EA actually made a good game where it would take some thinking to beat this. Instead all offense is basically unstoppable.

Oh I hated every minute of it...mainly because I didn't think bout trying it
Yikes, I faced a Speed Option opponent, called the same play 95+% of the game, but this sounds even more insufferable.
Couldn't stop my dude, ended up losing by a touchdown and I'm still nerd-raging a few days later, heh. Hope you did better than my poor showing.
It's nefarious, but I almost have to respect the unique and creative scheme. As others have mentioned, I adore the idea of interesting game balance items that force us to make trade-offs, but this is pretty cheese-dick, heh. 🧀 Thanks for sharing the interesting game you had. Good for a chuckle.
This kinda stuff is absolutely ridiculous tbh. What I want from EA is a realistic football simulation game? Why can’t we have this? If a team irl runs the same play over and over they will get wrecked. Or EA can at least make it somewhat stoppable. I would love to respect a GOOD gameplan but one cheese play after another is not a cool or creative gameplan

What’s the most real football game you have ever played?

You’re 1000% right, but unfortunately the problem with getting a sim football game is the community. I fully expect hate replies to this but it is what it is. EA can only do so much. There isn’t a single perfect game on the market and never has been. It’s up to the community to either choose to play football, or look for exploits. Most choose the latter. EA can’t really do a whole lot about that. The community wl ALWAYS find stuff to break the game from the way it was intended. Sooooo…. We’re screwed basically. Damn younger generations
Ok so, here's the thing. If you are a Madden Pro or somehow use winning online games to make a living or earn money, I can see doing stuff like these schemes to win.
But if you are playing Madden because you like football and/or video games, then what's the fun in that?????
The whole point of this is to have fun. It's leisure. It's a release after work....or a way to just chill and do something you love....I have a team where I could absolutely just power through someone with a lesser team using a scheme like this. I can put linchpin on Russ Grimm...freight train on Bijan, abilities on Rickey, Edge or Gus....such as energizer and power abilities...and basically just run the ball down someone's throat. Make them try 6-1 to stop it then just carving them up in the passing game...I could pop Vick in with the one backyard ability and have HRM along with the other OL and HB abilities and be all set.
But that just does not seem like fun to me. And it seems quite boring too.
Even when I run the same play a bunch of times I vary hot routes and try to go to different players.
I guess to some, winning a game of Madden is more important than having fun playing. I like being good at something but not to the point where it is just not fun anymore

I'm in my mid 40s...my long time gaming buddy is in his late 30s....we both have mentioned many times that esports gaming and streamers have sadly ruined the "fun" of games. We both enjoying going for challenges or playing with wacky setups but in most games...specifically shooters...if you arent playing "meta" only ur just wasting your time and having 0 fun.

Probably madden but not this madden, any madden before 19 was much more authentic gameplay

Brother, I am 55 years young . I played with the comp pros. I have seen every Madden since inception. And I totally I agree with you. I used to be into that but even still I always said that there should be a completely different environment and more separation for pro gamers or those who are attempting to go pro than for the "regular" gamers.
I think there should be a whole different level/game mode for that arena. And I don't mean All Madden H2h. Some of the HR where you cannot use the same play more than x number of times - a lot of people hate that but I think it makes the game more fun and diverse. But that's just me

Ya I totally agree with this ^^^^. I think people will always find exploits, but what EA can do is remove cheese abilities and stuff like that and make it a little more realistic and make cpu defenders not be brain dead

You are so right!!!! If I was making money I’d probably be cheesing too. But if you’re joining a casual H2H game why? Why do you do that? Have some fun in your life winning isn’t everything. Yes the pro gamers should be trying to win at all costs cuz thats their livelihood, but h2h seasons isn’t making you money lol

There's SO much EA could do but I truly believe that they want to have a high scoring game where anyone feels like they can score and possibly win so they stay invested in the game even by running any cheese, running verts and throwing lobs, etc....I always wanted Madden to be more of a sim....a reflection of real football where good football strategy pays off.
For example, how many people do you see punting on 4th down?? If defense was very good and field position actually mattered, in a game where someone really was trying to play well and play like real football, there would be punting. But no one does because 4th and 17 is so makeable in Madden as opposed to in the real world.
The game is clearly nerfed a little bit on 4th down making it harder to get a 1st down if you go for it. The same should be done when players spam plays. Let's face it, you control 1 player per down and cannot make enough adjustments presnap to make a huge difference. The other 10 guys should recognise the play and react accordingly. That is what would happen IRL.
