Trying out Current Gen version because the AH on Old Gen is DEAD

Because EA doesn't understand their own game, player base, and how to properly market and sell.  They could double their revenues by making packs offer a decent return on investment.  

So many more players would buy bundles if it guaranteed a top end card.

Yeah i was just thinking that. I havent spent half as much as usual this year (sadly i DID spend plenty) but i just cant bring myself to spend on a game this broken AND accept the fact that i will get NOTHING of value in return. Packs are worse than ever. Theyre even SELLING bnds for real money now. Thats mindblowing.

Defending bomb throws have been a challenge for me.

Besides all the points you brought, I have a simple question I couldn’t find the answer to… how can I accelerate the clock in game? I already turned it on in the settings tab but can’t use it during a game.

I have absolutely no idea what happened, but i just lost a lengthy post and now i'm too sad (and limited on time to rewrite it all).  Oof.  Somehow i get a single character with hyperlink "stuck" oof.

Welcome, i respect and appreciate your well-informed perspective on last-gen versus current-gen gameplay.  I'll try to address your bullet points later this evening if the community hasn't already directly responded to each and every (legitimate) question or concern.

It's broken (Accelerated Play Clock), bugged out -- it's not you.  It does work in some game modes, but not as reliably as last year.

Thanks for the reply! Another point: it has been far harder for me to hit stick in new gen x old gen. Is this related to the game mechanics? Or just because the cards still have low hit power?

"Chew Clock" is under the "Coaching Adjustments" that you set from the playcall screen by pressing in your Right Stick (it's under "Tempo Adjustment" along with No Huddle).  Alas, I don't think you can call this from inside of an actual play on Current Gen.

The player movement is wonky so hitsticking seems to be more difficult for us old geners.  I'm sure we'll get the hang of the enhanced gameplay eventually.

On old gen if you catch your opponent in a bad defense you could go right into hurry up by holding down Y at the end of a play.  That doesn't seem to work on current gen.  Is this another enhancement or is there a different way to do this?

Two more questions about Current Gen...

A) Is there really no way to call Zig Routes  at this point in the game (I'm assuming this will be an option once we get a Hot Route Master QB).  I don't think it was like this last year... zigs have always been one of the normal hot routes.

B) Is there no "throw out of sack" penalty where QBs toss up a duck if they throw while being hit?  It seems like you can literally just get rid of the ball after being hit by a pass rusher and the ball will just pop out and fall to the ground.

Yeah its a HRM/WR apprentice ability now. Maserati Marv has WR apprentice as one of his XF.

Hit sticking appears to be based on a number of things, with timing being towards the top end of that list.  Some is feel, but others are straight up in-game settings that you may or may not want to adjust.  There are also specific abilities which make it easier to land a proper (perfect) hit stick.  The feedback visual cues are ridiculously confusing to me; green is "too early" while yellow is labelled "ideal timing" and red is too much / too late?  User experience across this entire game is downright horrendous and as you and Ducati are unfortunately finding out, it hasn't always been for the better, nor improved over time.

I would highly recommend everyone go into their game settings and tinker with specific Game Options.  I have been back and forth on these, some are personal preference, but others are actually legit useful.  Please try some of these out and see if it improves your success rate or chances.

• Auto Flip  Defensive Play Call = personal preference, ON/OFF are both fine
• Defensive Ball Hawk = ON
• Defensive Heat Seeker Assist = ON
• Defensive Heat Seaker Window Size = 200%
• Defensive Switch Assist = ON
