EA released gameplay footage of Madden 23 today with a game between TDBarrett and Cleff.

I was able to catch bits and pieces while working.  I saw mention of some disguise plays on defense that piqued my interest.  I want to know more about those - I hate making a bunch of adjustments so plays like that seem useful

Cleff and TDBarrett seemed to have a decent handle on the passing.  I struggled with ball placement in the beta and turned it off.   I don't know if I'll be using the new system at all but I'll practice with it when I have time

Overall it looks like a much better game to play than the most recent versions so I'm looking forward to it.

My one hope is they don't go crazy with patches and such.  They seem to create more problems than they solve

First thing I noticed on the first play of the game: Jumping interception by a MLB with no abilities. 

Hopefully this means LBs aren't nerfed anymore.

I think most of the complaints in 22 were about defense not being good. Plus the center not being able to pick up the LB on the blitz was due to the User Evade feature, which allows the defensive user to basically juke O-linemen and get to the backfield. I assume this balances it out because it gives an opportunity for blitzing but leaves more people open.

I'm disappointed that none of these gameplay features will be available to me because I'm on Xbox One. They look really good aside from the clip of the O-lineman not even trying to block the LB

That sounds horrible and probably will be abused/exploited.
