For me... I'm really wondering if the old gen version will purely be a re-skin of M24 (which was a re-skin of M23). Did they make ANY improvements? Will we still have the FG block glitch that we've had to deal with for several years? Will the playbooks be the same as they have been the past couple years (I really hope so)? Will we get any of the new abilities that were added to the current gen version in M24? Less than two days to find out.

If it wasn't for Covid and the supply shortage during M21, I think M24 would have been it for Old Gen. Pretty sure M25 will be the last one.

I am curious to see if I can have a stock defensive play run as it looks as it should on paper, and not have to set a dozen pre-play adjustments before a quick snap just to keep from getting burned by three commonly-spammed play types.
Also hoping that defenders will respond with some awareness to Playmaker inputs.
Also wondering how many ‘addressed issues’ will resume being problems once speed and abilities reach the higher levels. RPO’s weren’t a problem when bullet passes floated to their target and players couldn’t run as quickly toward the line of scrimmage after the catch.

So you're curious as to whether EA has fixed the game on a fundamental basis?

Solo Seasons and the Patriots offense playbook is what I'm most curious about.
I'd also like to see what new defensive plays were added - I like the ability to disguise coverage with different shells too - interested to see how that works out.

HOLY COW, i believe that this year Linebackers DO actually animate without Lurker or LurkArtist, which is HUGE. Especially for folks on last-gen that did not (last year, M24) get these new abilities.
Otherwise, we're basically paying another $100 for a roster update, with new menus and playbooks. Graphics are improved (slightly), but year after year EA continues to invest limited Dev resources into meaningless bullshit that has zero impact on how the game plays. Many of the old bugs are still going to persist. They're basically just dragging sliders up (or down) to adjust how fast the game plays, with few real or significant changes.
Tackling should feel very different this year, that's what i'll be most focused on tomorrow at ~4PM (assuming servers are live) is trying to figure out the type of ball carrier I will prefer for the year. I have absolutely zero information to base this on, but I'm getting the sense that we might want the bigger body, physical runner types (i.e. Derrick Henry) despite all the CMC (finesse runners) that is plastered everywhere.
If CMC avoids the Madden curse, i'll probably explode with joy.
To answer the original question, i'm most curious to find out if I can stomach yet another full MUT cycle and remain hyped for this buggy ass mess of a game that we all want to love oh so very much. Well, i can only speak for myself -- i want to love a football simulation game, but this is not the way.
I fully expect we'll get even more of M24, meaning more and more content, but it'll be a continuation of the same, tired, recycled nonsense. Instead of making the game more fun, EA appears to be including even more and more barriers that will prevent casual players from enjoying (or understanding) the game.
If the under-center, roll-out pass glitching is back (which by all accounts it is back) and contains still don't work very well, we could be in for an extremely long year.
