There is absolutely no reason to still have the same archaic lineup requirements. Either get more vanilla or more technical, but the current format is trash.
Vanilla: An OLB is an OLB is an OLB. We shouldn't need training, or spend time in-game with formation subs, to play a guy where we want them. This goes for safeties that play in the box as well, which brings me to technical.
Technical: They need to revamp their understanding of the current game's positions. Using the defensive front as an example, we have interior DL and edge players. They need to understand that NT and DT are like a square and rectangle. Furthermore, and I'll die on this hill, but I should be able to put Aaron Donald or Akiem Hicks at DT without paying training because they are 3 techniques, which is a DT. Yet both continue to be in-game as defensive ends.
Until they fix the gameplay and get rid of superpowers (which are probably not small fixes), the least they could do is give us the chance to have more accurate and dynamic team building.
