I don't understand, why I would use for example light it up evasive on cmc when I can use it in an ability bucket. can someone please explain this to me?
Its to give players another ability without EA having to add an extra bucket or discount abilities in the lesser tiers
Regular abilities are always active though, right? With the X-Factor ones, don't we have to satisfy a condition in order to activate it? For example, Stroud has Unstoppable Gunslinger which activates after completing 5 consecutive passes. Wouldn't the regular Gunslinger ability be better? Also, why is it called unstoppable? Does it stay active for the rest of the game once activated?

Stays active for the Rest of the game once activated
and it’s better than the regular GS ability because if you use the xfactor, now you have the GS ability bucket available to use on another ability if you want to

It seems you already have a fairly strong grasp on this -- with a limit of three X-factors per side (offense/defense) i guess it's nice to have options and flexibility, but I'm 100% with you on the fact that it feels foolish to "waste" an X-factor when an equivalent ability will do essentially the same thing. YMMV, of course, but at least on defense, we've got a TON of really great options, so i prioritize X-factor abilities that remain active the entire game, such as Warren Sapp 1AP Unstoppable Force, 0AP Colossus from big George and/or 0AP Dual Threat on Kam Chancellor. Bonus points / alternate for Chuck Howley's 1AP Universal Coverage, or perhaps Ji`Ayir Brown 0AP Reinforcement... but i think the first three make the most sense for my squad.
On offense there's a little more wiggle room here. 3AP for Evasive on CMC is rather steep, so that might make this compelling for some folks. I believe i'm still running Vanguard (Heath Miller), Double Me (Megatron) and then a QB X-factor ability, lately i'm tinkering with Kermit's Backyard QB. The Slinger 2 release isn't terrific, but it's kind of nice having all that extra (~4AP) to invest elsewhere... but definitely more a luxury than necessity.
