The OG John Madden Football on the Sega Genesis. It was the 1st Madden released to console. I got a kick out of the ambulance speeding on field running over players to pick up an injured player. Like someone said ambulance on the field for the win.

Madden 96. Its actually how I became a Panthers fan. I was familiar with the nfl teams by playing Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES. When I got a Sega Genesis, I discovered the Carolina Panthers and just liked how the helmet looked and the way "Panthers" was written out.

First NFL game i played was ESPN 2K5 with T.O. on the cover. Played the hell outta that game. I kept playing it up until they shut down the online servers, when the NFL signed the exclusive gaming rights with EA. That was a sad day.
After that the first Madden i got was 10 with Fitz and Polamalu on the cover. I remember it being 5 years newer than ESPN 2k5, but still an inferior game. At least that was my opinion at the time.
