Can’t tell you how many times I get into a game with a team that is significantly worse than mine, yet bros defense locks up everything cause he simply has route KOs and runs man the whole game. I just use Ask Madden for offense and defense and try to play a game of football and make adjustments when need be. I was just wondering if the game actually takes the theme team boosts into account when calculating your team overall, or if the boosts simply only apply to in game play. Cause I have a 97 Overall team, but I only have 5 or 6 players at 97 overall boosted, with a majority being 98 boosted. My safeties are still only 96 and 97 boosted, so that could be something holding it down. And then my ROLB is Bo Jackson and he’s only boosted to a 97. Does Tight End play a large role in overall or no, cause my TE is that AKA Heath Miller with SB chem boosted to a 96.
Punter, Kicker, everything in the top row (starters, basically) will count towards your team OVR rating.
But PLEASE, stop placing any emphasis on team or card OVR ratings, they are literally meaningless. My 95 OVR Superbowl players are as good if not better than most of these new 98-99 Sugar Rush players.
The goal is to ensure your receivers hit those 90 SRR/MRR/DRR minimum thresholds. Once you're above that mark, you should be able to cook most man coverage, there's certain routes that will just absolute demolish Man, which is why everyone mostly uses Zone schemes. Zone KOs are THE way to go, if yer not spending ~9 AP (or more) on your DBs, i would urge you to re-consider your defensive philosophy, but now i'm getting off topic.
Check this Huddle.gg video from Antcap, should help tremendously beating different types of Man coverage: https://youtu.be/6mf4avZSEkY
I am starting to see a fair bit of Cover 1 out there, which is always a bit of a surprise, but it's far easier, IMO to beat than Zone. We have plenty of AP now where we can run both Deep and Mid Zone KOs on our DBs all around the outside.
