I’m starting to play people who have Henry/Quad, all their abilities on their Oline, and running gimmicky run plays/formations.
Well, I only played 1 guy who did this but he took it to the house without being touched on the first play and I instantly quit because I knew what was up. Havent played H2H since.
What should I do to combat this? Im usually running a Nickel 4-3 with Sean Taylor and Polamalu at LB. Pretty elite Dline.
You have to shoot gaps. A blitz with all players on or near the line of scrimmage is basically a free touchdown because if they break one tackle then there's no one to stop them after that. Try a blitz out of a normal formation and user to try and stop the run. It's difficult but it's the only effective way I've tried thus far

Ok. You think I can just go in practice mode and practice shooting the gap?

What formation do you suggest? Someone running nickel 2 4 5 cover 2 man shut my run game down completely by bringing the safeties down but when I tried it it didn't work at all.
Nothing seems to work for me, I've tried everything.

That's a great idea. Best way to get good at the game is to practice. Try figuring out based on formation which way they are likely to run it, then look for weak spots in the blocking (maybe recognizing a TE who is particularly back at RBK)

I don't bring the safeties down. I have Patrick Queen, TJ Edwards and Malik Hooker switching in and out of LB.
I primarily use 4-4 and Nickel 24 to defend against the run
I just run commit and then usually my opponent is ass and throws it right to someone rushing or run it and lose yards.

Is there a way to see run fits pre snap on ps4?

Is it better to have more LB’s or strong D linemen to stop the run?

Actually a 4-4 sounds like it could work. what do you think about Big Nickel? The 4-3 playbook has both

You want LBs primarily, only problem is that they are slow. Also try non- conservative tackles. Diving tackles and cut sticks seem to be more effective at tripping Quad and Henry and sometimes even seem to override the X-factors

I don’t know about that one, I run Falcons defense and I don’t think it has Big Nickel
The only real way to stop the run is effectively shooting gaps, but abilities can help.
I run Inside Stuff on both Mean Joe Greene and Gravedigger in my base defense.
Having guys with free abilities as backups is huge. I‘ll sub in Barno and Carl Banks (both free) with 0 AP No Outsiders if I run into an aggressive runner.
