oh brother, it wasn’t good. essentially the biggest money grab of all time.
32 extremely unobtainable chase cards way above the meta threshold inserted into the game at one time
Long story short, key points lmao;
- sets were released as 95s instead of 92
- EA locked the server for half the player base but the other half were allowed in still
- these players built 95s for about a million coins tops per set
- EA unlocked the servers
- sets were changed back to 92s for the same requirements as it was for a 95
- people realised there’s no way to get a 95 without packing them in store packs or the $100 bundle
- ea released a “make good set“ which was useless, which still needed a 95 and now a 92 to get a different 95
- because of this, these 1m coin set players only a handful of players could do now sell for 4.5m
I hate EA in case you did not know
Don't forget that EA "teased" the 95 OVR cards to the community, and then pulled the switch-a-roo and hid the 95's behind a paywall. To get a chance at a 95, you needed to buy a $100 pack that gave you a 92 or 95 (20% chance at pulling the 95). Been around MUT for some time so very little surprises me with EA, but yesterday made EA's true colors show and I'm guessing they are gonna lose even more of the player-base.
The game went down for a couple hours and then when we were able to get in we all realized it wasn't really a promo, but more of "spend hundreds for your chance at a way-too-early-in-the-season 95 OVR card"
