Which positions need backups?

LBs. Those are good. I personally have my TE2 and TE3 as blocking TEs, so I have Trautman and Watt, but depends on scheme. Having a WR4 is good for fatigue or you use one WR a lot. Same with HB2. I have good backup safeties with 0 ap tackling abilities (Weapon X with enforcer, Adrian Wilson with Secure Tackler) for special teams. Also, you need a good CB4 and the backup safeties if you run Dollar or Prevent D, otherwise offensive players get subbed in.

Yes it does cause they lose like stamina from exertion of blocking

1) DE/OLB if your running nickle like just about everyone these are a must. They spend pass rush points like crazy!

2) DTs. As I said before sub your D-line. Almost every play. To apply constant pressure(without blitzing)you need depth and cheap 1AP abilities. Pass rush points are KEY. Especially if you running X2/0.

3)SS/FS. Again nickle should not have an actual MLB unless you're blitzing. So.... SS at SubLB positions and FS in coverages.

TE WR LB SS

TE 2, WRs, HB 2, DBs, Safeties (especially if SS is a sublb).  2nd DT can be depending on scheme. Most useless-back up oline, back up MLBs if SS in sublb, back up qb, back up FB.

Yes but does having a good backup make a difference. Do fatigued linemen get subbed for plays at all?

Depends on what you run but definitely get a wr4 and cb4

I think u sub them urself when u notice them getting fatigued, just like with ur rushers and stuff…….i only ever notice skill players getting subbed for automatically from fatigue

Definitely feel the OCD of having everyone be at least a 90 overall lol. all of my defensive players, regardless of position are all 90+

I put backups in at all positions because if you don’t, after a kickoff your starters will come in fatigued,  between Kickoff, field goals, and Punts, all the positions are used as either starters backups other than DT 3 and 4. DEs come in on Safety punts. If I see someone running no backups against me I know I have a better chance of winning because his guys are already tired before the actual plays even start. don’t Sleep on backups

btw, it’s not a dumb question. I still see guys who have played madden for years running no backups and it drives me crazy lol. Stick a guy in for Chems if nothing else
