Just keep playing. You will eventually recognize how people play. Almost every MUT player has been there at some point. I remember when I initially started I could barely squeeze out a win. Just keep practicing, practice makes perfect.
Just also keep in mind that sometimes it's your game and sometimes it isn't. Sometimes Madden just wants you to lose just because.

if i play it like a solo challenge/battle then i suck at online
when i use drags and slant routes and run inside zones and jet sweeps then i do much better

I am not good online. My only full H2H game was horrible. I was down 17-0 at halftime, came back 17-21 to win.
I got a message thinking it was going to be GG but it was some hateful crap. never wanted to play online again.

I win about 60% of my games. I just enjoy when I can play and when I stop having fun, I just turn the game off.
