Why are people like this?

I split my time between mlb the show and madden and this is what I found. 

Mlb the show online players are gracious and fun opponents. I have played 300 online games so far this season and have gotten zero racist, homophobic, mean spirited messages either in chat or text

Madden on the other hand I can always depend on being messaged with hateful, racist and downright cruel shit. I lost my super bowl last night with my kid cheering me on a touchdown with 5 seconds left. Great game. I had every intention of throwing him a GG after the game and instead he had to hop on the mic, call me trash, tell me get off his fucking field and delete madden. In 10 years of playing mlb the show this has happened exactly zero times. I don't want to shut down my dms to new folks because I have made some great friends that way, but this is getting to be too much to expose my child to. If you think I'm being an overly sensitive little bitch, I guess i am. I just don't understand the anger

1. MLB the show doesn’t have voice chat 

2. You really can’t cheese besides stealing and bunt squeezing so most people online just want to play a baseball simulator. You don’t get the gamers just looking to feel superior because they won.

Because EA encourages it. Watch the MCS and see how those guys talk to each other. Streamers act like clowns too. EA even added celebrations after every single play in the game to rub it in some more. Toxic company doing toxic things to the game means toxic players.

I agree with all of this. No, you’re not being an over sensitive anything.

It’s probably cuz less people play mlb the show and also because madden is just a frustrating toxic game in general so people just get angry and wanna talk trash. Honestly the only game I’ve ever gotten angry playing is mut lol I’ve never taken it out on others but maybe some do

i guess people live out their own football dreams since they didn’t have the actual skill in real life to actually be somebody 😂 its all ego boost & it makes them feel more superior just cause they treat a video game as a real world fanasty simulator

The madden community is one of the worst  communities in all of gaming and gamers are one of the most toxic groups in all of society.  So your getting the worst of the worst to interact with.

It was so cringe listening to these "mut champ" clowns talking crap if thats what you even wanna call it, id be so embarrassed if i was acting like that in front of 1000s of viewers. Yes as well as ea forcing/encouraging celebrations/taunts. They just want everyone nerd raging at each other and spending $ on packs to try and "get a better team" to win and trash talk back.

Pretty much this. They promote all this positive play and end racism bullshit but turn on your mic and that's all you hear and you can't do shit about it. I've never seen a company more full of shit than EA

Thanks for your feedback. I do have to say that I get a lot more rage the higher up I go. I just got to all pro I think and it's gotten infinitely worse

I’ve never understood it. If my opponent is bothering me, I’ll bitch to myself, but I make a point of a “ggs have a nice day”

what platform you guys on? im sure it’s distasteful and immature stuff is out there but the worst i’ve encountered on PS5 is excessive showboating

I'm on ps5. I played a guy cross platform and he was adamant about talking shit that he had a ps5 account just for gloating.
