Pretty confident this isn't true from what ive heard from guys actually playing the the bowl. And on the note of roster changes thats never been a thing before you are always allowed to change during tournament, and often you'll see players change both players and abilities game to game.

Sfl X factor is 2 ap, and backyard qb is free but I think people just prefer abilities to be on 100% of the time, and especially paying for the meta ones.

completely agree more, there shouldnt just be "one best card" at each position madden needs to better with the give and take to create more variety among the comp scene.

Guy I know is actually at the bowl, and won a belt this year. Ill take his word for it he's been in more lives than kmac.

like I said McNair gets 3 of the 4. Only guy at the bowl who hasn't always used gw is Abram. But the ability to high ball and not drop it can be the difference between winning and losing so that's why we see Stroud.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me -- at first i thought it might be due to the fact everyone had 60/60 Playoffs squad, but these great AKA Crews drops get basically everything, so no reason (except locking rosters) that at least someone would have chosen Steve McNair. That being said, Traditional2 is the faster / better overall release, based on these charts, especially on deep balls... with Traditional 1 being THE absolute best in the entire game.
But i've had tons of people push back lately, suggesting the data below is somehow wrong (or outdated). QB Releases haven't been patched to the best of my knowledge, so i have no reason to suspect the data is stale.
So Stroud is the only QB to get 4 abilities a d an X-Factor? I noticed it was either Wes or Dez last night, that had: gift wrapped, gunslinger, set feet lead, hot route master, and pro reads.
Off thr original topic, but, with pro reads, on PS5, I see the controller button icons pop up, but what were they using with the light up half circles to highlight their receivers?

Yeah Mcnair is a good option if you want to run no gunslinger and use that extra 1ap on a jukebox or something.

I don't think that list is correct anymore, it was testing done in the beta and right at launch and is missing all the short throw timers where you notice the hitch in releases the most (especially to the right). For example the list makes slinger 5 (Moon, Herbert) like a very solid release yet most know by now there are some nasty hitches in it.
Its pretty common consensus now that trad 4 is the best release in the game, followed by trad 2, slinger 1 and trad 1. Its interesting to me people are hyping up the release of Montana now when the card everyone used earlier in the year for a long time had the same release and many didn't like it compared to a trad 2 or 4 QB.

Appreciate the feedback and detailed response. I'm not sure what data to trust... i'd love to see some of these frame by frame comparison videos i keep hearing about, i've been slacking on trying to research this. Ultimately, i'm pleased with Traditional 4, Gunslinger not needed.
Obviously there's releases, such as Mahomes, that become basically unusable for one reason or another, such as the various hitches in the release that you described. I have yet to use any Trad2 QBs this year, as it's mostly limited to Burrow and now Stroud, i guess? I went from Andrew Luck (Trad4) to Steve McNair (Trad4) and have been quite happy, although i took a brief break in the middle (~3-4 days only) with Joe Montana, so my first-hand knowledge and experience is extremely limited and i'm genuinely curious about trying to learn. Love these discussion topics, especially when folks point out the many, many times i'm wrong about stuff.
Eventually i'm intending to try and run full 50/50 Niners squad, but perhaps there's a chance i'll have Superbowl MVP Brock Purdy to tinker with. 🏆

Bro you are trippen McNair has the best release in the game it’s better than strouds even with gunslinger there not aloud to use McNair because of snap 1 abilities
