Tl;dr: No. All the fuck-ups the team makes to this game just shows that they don't care, so I won't either.
Nope, been an avid MUT player since 17 but I've just been getting burned year after year since then. Gameplay loop feels worse every year in H2H and the amount of care, or lack thereof, that went into this year after the shitshow that was 22 is just astounding. To follow up on some of the biggest fuck-ups you've ever endured as a team in that game, only so you could fall so, so much harder on your face this go around is the only sign I need that I shouldn't be picking this game up next year. If it's a make-it-or-break-it type situation, then good. I highly doubt it since we've heard that like five different times in the last 10 years or so, but I do hope something changes for the better with this series. Because with other modes either not being fully fleshed out or shells of their former selves, then I am just better off playing older installments in the series to get my football fix.
And this doesn't even have anything to do with the recent AP update or trade block removal, but rather just because of the fact that this dev team can't get their heads out of their asses when it comes to even the simplest little things, and that zero QA testing goes into any of the updates they push. It's bad when you're no longer asking if, or even when stuff is broken each promo, but rather how much. The number of busted glitches that act as a printing press for coins in the community, such as the Talib/Pouncey TVPs, Eggstravagant Eggs reroll launch, or the Elite/Pro Elite/GAP pack odds boost all in just the last couple of months to name a few, that seemingly no-one bothered to have a second glance at before pushing it out public only exacerbate that.
Last thing that really irks me about this year more than any other is just how heavily they've leaned into the training slot machine that is TVPs and rerolls in general. I'm just so sick of it. It's hard to get around the community without having to hear about these asinine rerolls and that people are mad that they aren't either printing them money, or telling how it's getting them 5 LTDs every 20 rolls. Something about it just feels gross and even though you can't buy training with actual money, this feels like the closest thing to slots that EA has implemented into Madden ever, with the simple loop of get pack, get item, quicksell item, get new pack ad nauseum. It's to a point now where I see more talk about those variety packs than the actual game itself, which is both quite frustrating, and quite telling of the state the game exists in right now.
It sucks, man. I really like what Madden was back in the PS2/Xbox days, and even the first half of the PS3/360 generation was pretty rockin, like Madden 12. But now it's just clear that absolutely zero thought goes into honoring Madden's legacy by making even a halfway-respectable title, and if they don't care about their game at all, why should I? I've got a backcatalog of games in which I've been meaning to get to for years, and maybe finally breaking away from MUT is exactly what I need to attack that library o' mine.
