I assume like almost everyone I often play against people running the same play. Most of the times I cannot stop them so no offence :)
I use film study and even when the play is shown most of the time my adjustments are wrong or just not fast enough. I totally accept that as a skill issue :)
Additionally, I must admit I am not different. I pass 90% and mostly out of empty or gun doubles. When the game is tight I normally switch back to my standard plays.
Tbh I would prefer it when madden forces me mixing things up and use different plays.
Thus, I wonder if perhaps instead or additionally to the momentum meter some kind of “predictability meter” would make sense.
This charges if you consistently run or pass, if you use the same formation and of course charges strongly if you use the same play.
And by loading the meter you receive a severe penalty on players stats and e.g. abilities will deactivate randomly.
Perhaps this could force players to use different plays and make the game more diverse.
I agree that EA does not make the best job but I still love this game and I also think that due to all the freedom you have (PA, RPO, lots of hot routes, switching formations etc) it is almost impossible to prevent that glitch plays will evolve over time.
