Yes, it would make the game actually require skill.
Yes or at least remove discounted abilites

I want realism in my sports video games but EA keeps moving further and further away from that.
i think the ones that should be oop are fun I'm not saying they're all fun but the calvin safety deion wr those are fun.

Scores would probably be in the 60s every time. Say what you want, but they (KOs) are ESSENTIAL to this year's game. They allow a modicum of pass defense.
PPL bitching about Freight Train will always be funny to me. Sure it can be cheap here and there, but shit's taking on boogeyman status at this point. If you can't stop the run, then that's your fault. Notice how no other aka Xs are shitted on? Just Freight Train. Sure someone brings up the DLine one every now and then, but whew boy that Freight Train? Created in Satan's Lab lol. If you're consistently in situations where there's literally only one man trying to tackle a running back, then that's a you problem. Learn how to play defense.
prolly the best comment ive seen but ea should be able to program their game to wear these abilities can just be natural things that are in the game. instead of the abilities being put on these players they should just be things that happen in the game. like pick artist being an ability is so dumb because without it you can catch the ball as a defender which the defender should just catch a wide open interception. And there is always a way around the abilities there are counters with other abilities but the best counters are getting good at the game and knowing how to stop the run or throw away from KOs
Yes Please do. Any ability that is in the game is either Arcade BS or something the player should do anyways. What's the point of Route Running when you have Route Tech? Runoff Elite should be based off Speed/Agility/Strength. EA should do what 2k did with Quick Draw a few years ago (it sped up the players shot timing) and remove it. Players should have fast releases because that's who they are in real life.
TheNickSix said:It’s really unfortunate but abilities are basically to counter bad gameplay mechanics. Qbs keep underthrowing balls? SFL/PLE, DBs can’t catch? Pick artist, no dline sheds? Inside Stuff, can’t beat man coverage? Short in/Short out. KOs are necessary because man can’t cover shit, zone can’t cover shit but maybe if you’re close you get a KO and that makes up for poor gameplay. If ratings and traits mattered more than abilities you could do without them. Unfortunately the game is so bad without them they need them to counter their own deficiencies
1000% correct
SauceWithCheeseSauce said:Kos are so overpowered it’s not fair or realistic. Go play regs where no one has kos. Nobody’s going for 500 yards or 60+ points. Xfactors are a bailout mechanism for players that suck at the game. Both are incredibly unrealisti.
the ppl who play regs are just trash and whole game mode as a whole is too its so boring to sit and go play a game of regs
Let’s be honest though, at some point in the year, abilities are the only thing making different cards distinguishable.
THEMALLARD said:It'd be an interesting experience after this year. EA would be smart to put in another H2H mode with no x factors or abilities activated and see how well that goes first
they should just make mut have abilites and regs have none or 2 versions of regs with and without

in regs this is 1000000% the case and in mut it is too at this point all cards the same unless they get 2 0ap buckets. small things change cards like lower ap for certain high ap abilities like osa and outside of that the different between a QB with the big 4 for 3 ap is literally just the qbs release. and like players height changes some things and that's it.
Go back to Mut 20 style. 3 factors, and those are the only players that have abilities activated.

Love that idea

I can't remember if there was an AP limit or not back then or if you could just throw any 3 abilities on whoever your x factors are.

There was not. No need for discounted abilities determining if a card is good or not. Great thing!
