Wow they really have to even out man vs zone

It was so evident to me in my last h2h game. I ran cover 1, cover 2, and rarely cover 0 but always dropped Peppers or Derwin into coverage as a user.    .

So I go cover 1 to start, 4 and out. Lockdown cvg. I ride the clock because I like to play sort of like a real game, I don't need to run up the score,  just use clock to my advantage.  Halftime I'm up 14-0. Credit to my opponent for hanging in there,  2nd half comes and I'm comfortably up so I go zone. My guys are all 93 zone minimum, I figured I'd be fine.  End up winning 28-21 but his last TD came with 10 seconds left and he had no TOs left.

Still, had I stayed in my regular man based D I highly doubt it would have even been that close. I got torched in zone. I think I have up less than 30 yards passing in man and like 180 in zone.

EA really has to balance this out.

It could be like real life where hes picking plays that cut out zones or what abilities youre running. 

If youre in zone and hes running slants and cuts and corners, youre gonna get beat all day.

Even still, Man is the meta and is OP.  83 man will play pass coverage in man better than  90 zone will play zone - I have seen it on more than one occasion

Yeah but I know how to defend beaters,  etc...I adjust my drops, drop a D lineman like Peppers into a zone (at 6'7" with lurker on him).....these are just flat out misplays of zone. Zones don't play like they are supposed to. This guy wasn't even running flood concepts...he was trying man beaters.

I agree corner routes can beat zones but mainly its flood concepts, or one streak next to a corner and a HB underneath.......but even those should be adjustable to stop....shading overtop/outside should stop corners but you have to manually play them with the safety in zone.

As for slants /drags , etc,   really more man beaters than zone beaters ....slants and drags are dangerous against zones even in today's game because if your opponent expects a trailing defender in man with no one ahead of the receiver (for example if he's running a slant or drag from r to l, he's not expecting a defender to be in a squat or underneath or some sort of light blue zone), he's going to throw a lead pass. Against man, if you have a step there and lead the ball you may be able to get a  RAC unless it's a zone...then you lead the pass and there's a defender there. So slants/drags not supposed to work against zones so well. 

This is why pros like Henry run almost all man. He runs 2 plays on defense...2 plays.!!!!!!....and is the most dominant defender in Madden using basically just a nickel package and a few tweaks and coach adjustments. 

This is just  really poor zone play. Cover 3 with a 6'7 player lurking 20 yards downfield in the middle shouldn't get beat by a post......I set my flats (hard flats included) to 0 yards because the guy was making quick passes to the flat. My defender STILL played 5 yards off the ball and didn't step forward when a swing route to the HB was thrown. And that CB has 96 zone.  Just bad zone play.

Damn that just sounds like the game itself is beating you. 

Zones used to be too good for years. Then they switched it up and man is too good the last 2 years.
