Ok, so I was up by 3 points with 2 minutes left in the game and I was just chewing clock. It was 3rd and 8 so I went into bunch offset, and put a couple slant routes on the field. Just as the slant route is going to clear his linebacker, my wr literally just stops running so of course my qb throws it straight to the linebacker who returns for the game winning touchdown. Like WTF, that’s the third time that has happened in the past like 4 games. It makes zero sense because I’m the one who gives that wr his route, so he should have no reason to stop running. I remember last year this happened a lot with Texas routes and I just don’t know what to do.
Unfortunately, it's just how the game is programmed this year. There's not much you can do about it besides getting used to the fact receivers running a slant route are probably going to stop at some point.
I've had that happen when they are running drags too and it usually ends in an interception. It's very annoying
Oh this is so annoying I don't even run slants due to this. It's just as bad as a DB standing there in the flats clueless watching a ball fly right over them.
You’ll see receivers mugged by the user on some routes and they’ll just stop. Bizarre. I normally get an illegal contact penalty if I’m too aggressive like that.
Slants definitely have been broken from day one this year.
