So does anybody know if a CB is set to play a deep quarter but he has deep zone KO and flat zone KO will it still knock out the flat if he manages to play it? Or another example being a DB who has flat zone KO and mid zone KO. If their assignment is the mid zone for example but an RPO was thrown into the flat and the DB plays it, will their flat zone KO activate that play even though their assignment was technically the mid zone? I hope I am making sense. Essentially I’m asking if a DB has multiple zone KOs equipped will they activate in any zone coverage regardless of their zone responsibility? Thanks!
Yes, the only requirements for zone KOs to activate are that the defender has a zone coverage assignment and the location of the throw. They do not care about what type of zone the defender is playing. This is why you still want to run deep zone/deep out zone KO on CBs playing flat zones with flat zones depth set to 25-30 yards like you see in mable coverages. That depth is where deep zone KO activates even though the cb is technically playing a flat zone.

Yes they'll still react if they're set to zone coverage. A deep zone won't play a screen as good as you think it will tho as they'll still bail before the pass.
