So I'm looking to build a team that would be good for H2H games. I am absolutely awful in H2H but still just enjoy playing for fun.
I have 500,000 coins saved up for this but really unsure what makes a good or decent team or what players work best with each other. Any help or even advise would be appreciated.

How do you like to play?
I like to build my team around my strengths and not just the best cards available. I like a lot of out routes and short passes so I look for RR over speed.
I run a lot of cover 2 so I look for high zone over speed in my corners, etc.

I would say I'm a balanced player. So short passes but I'm horrible at out and corner routes. I stick to slants and crossing routes and very seldom curls. But I also mix with running plays. I'm also more of a in the pocket passer nerver been one to take off with the QB so I tend to get blitzed and sacked a lot. Stuck in my old ways of football. Defense I run 4-3 and cover 2. So as far as my strengths I really haven't found any yet.
Hope this helps.

I think starting w/ your positions of need (QB/WR/DB) and working inside out is a good start.
Gunslinger is THAT OP, so Zach WIlson is a good card to start to look @. A lot of the Campus Hero WRs are worth a look (Galloway, Williams).
Cards that are "slightly" older like Revis/Ed Reed could be guys you could look @ for your secondary group.
The biggest advice I could give, is to WAIT until Thurs evening when Team Diamonds get teased/revealed before buying anything. Even if you aren't planning on purchasing any of the new cards, current cards in the game should start to drop like a rock (typical content cycle). I think the best time to buy is close to reveal.
You can use the lineup builder here and post it and we can take a look @ your current squad to see if theres any specific spots that you might look @.

If you post what you currently have in a lineup builder and link it here, it would be a huge help in getting you a good answer!

Well I sold off my entire original team and started doing a ton of sets over this past weekend by picking up cards at low cost to build up my team. I managed to get from a 79 0verall to a 89 overall. I had severe eye strain from the two days I kept doing the auction house. How do I share my lineup on here from the team build page?

Fill in what you have there along with your budget! Save it, and post the link after you save!

On offense I mostly just run the ball because playing qb I am horrible in h2h. I throw middle of field constantly. I do fine against computer solo challenges better than h2h but I am all caught up with those. Defense I run 4-3 and Dime. But not great with coverages. Last time I've played madden was madden 15 so I'm way out of touch with the game. Like the power ups and read about theme teams I'm still trying to figure it out. So mostly play for fun even when losing.

Hope this works. I have around 100,000 coins now but when you see the players I managed to get over the weekend the eye strain was worth it. My question is who would you keep or sell and what or how can I build around them? I do have a few nat players but I did click the nat icon so it can be seen. Thank you.

You have a killer team. A lot better than mine
If it was me, I think I would sell Mackey, and use Pitts until I reached level 50 for Kittle. I would use those coins for a SS (even upgrading to full Legend Ed), and maybe a QB change from Danny Dimes to Wilson (or even better Allen if gets a TOTW).

Thank you. I was luck to snipe cards to build many legends and kept reselling until I got way ahead in coins and did as much as I could to pick up a few diamond players I liked and did sets for myself. I do plan on finishing up the Ed Reed so I have a good safety until I can upgrade Kam. But I'm struggling to understand the powerups. Do they really work better or is it just a placebo effect for the player to think that? I'm knew to this feature and it seems like it eats up player cards more than anything else.

Power ups (IMO) are really only worth it if you need them to:
Change team chems for a theme team
Hit a specific threshold for an attribute (90 SRR for example)
Unlock a new tier of abilities (i.e PUPing an 89 to a 90 for tier 3 abilities)
Other than that, no, I don’t think it’s worth doing for +1 attributes. Not this early in the games cycle when TP is so expensive. Use your training on abilities and abilities only (again IMO)

Stupid question here. If I do a theme team let's say cowboys since I have more high rated players in that list. Is the entire team better with all cowboy players at every position or is a certain number requirement better?
Also not sure on what you mean on threshold for an attribute with the 90 SRR.
