As title says, please add the ability to block users and stop seeing their comments and messages on the site.
There are just too many people who spam the same exact comment on every card, instead of using the forum as a normal person. It would be fine if their message was posted on the forum, but for a card completely unrelated to whatever they're talking about, I'm sick of seeing the same thing repeated on each new release.
I'm begging the site developers to add a block functionality.
Just hit the report button, and we're happy to address it.
Blocking users can get personal. It would hurt your feelings if you found out that somebody didn’t want to see what you have to say.

I've reported plenty of posts that don't have anything happen to them. I'd rather have the ability to remove them completely and never see them again.
Why couldn't a block be implemented?

Why would that person care if I don't see their message? They would never know.
Any site that cares about the health of a community needs to allow a block function. Asking someone to rely on moderators to handle everything is not a good way to go about it.

On that instance, for sure.
But it’s not hard to imagine a comment sounding like, “I don’t see that &!¿BLEEP’S&$!& comments, I have them blocked, rah rah rah!”
and that’s when it makes people upset. Some of us aren’t trying to be As annoying as we are perceived.
i would recommend blocking them out manually and just choosing to ignore the silly talking points you don’t wish to partake in 🙃

You're acting like their mental health is more important than mine. Which I can't agree with.
I like this site, but "just choosing to ignore" something is difficult when you see it every single time you go back to something.

I mean hey I would have tons of people blocked myself hahaha I was just exploring the reasoning for why it isn’t an option.
maybe it’s just a difficult thing to implement on the site.

Any site that has individual user accounts and messaging systems should have this functionality. I'm sure the site developer isn't creating all the comment and forum systems from scratch.
If I'm wrong, then maybe I don't know as much about software development as I thought. But blocking other users is, IMO, a fundamental right of any community environment.

I would also think it to be a simple process that many more users would vote for than against.
Maybe the Devs and programmers just got too much going on preparing for the new games that come out in a month or something. I have had some good ideas in the past that haven’t made their way to the right desk as well.

Another thing about this "workaround":
I would have to report every single instance of a comment that I see in order for something to happen to it.
Whereas, if I block that user, I would stop seeing all their comments across the board.
Why is the onus on the individual to report each single instance of a comment, and waiting for a mod to hopefully delete it?
Why wouldn't it be simpler to allow someone to block the user completely so they don't have to view any of their messages ever again. It lessens the work for both the end user and the mod team.

I didn't say it wasn't possible. I'm offering you a faster fix to help assist the Mod team, as there are more members than there are mods. We do review all reports. But things are subjective. So what you may deem inappropriate may not always be actionable. But everything is reviewed.

That's not true at all. You have the ability to leave a comment. So if someone is spamming you can report one post with a note that says "they are spamming this on multiple threads" or "this user has been toxic on his last 6 posts". There is no need to have to report every single comment.

Exactly my point, though. It's subjective and relies on a mod having the same viewpoint.
So if you don't agree, people are just SOL? Nothing can be done?
And as for the way the reporting system works, I'm not sure how I would have known otherwise if you hadn't explained that is what happens with a "comment on a report" here.
Still, none of that negates what I wrote, though. You haven't provided a single reason why a block system isn't implemented and wouldn't be preferable to reporting, or even in addition to the current system.
