I was re-watching the Seattle - New England Super Bowl this evening, saw Brandon Browner on the field - who had won the previous SB with the Seahawks (well, actually he did not play then, as he was suspended, but he's still got that ring) - and I thought to myself: there's quite a few players like him. LeGarrett Blount and Chris Long off the top of my head.
The full list goes like this:
- LB Ken Norton - Cowboys & Niners
- CB Deion Sanders - Niners & Cowboys
- S Derrick Martin - Packers & Giants
- CB Brandon Browner - Seahawks & Patriots
- DE Chris Long - Patriots & Eagles
- RB LeGarrette Blount - Patriots & Eagles
- RB LeSean McCoy - Chiefs & Buccaneers
And by some strange coincidence, all of them - except Deion - beat their former teams on the road to their back to back title: Browner, Long, Blount and McCoy did this in the Super Bowl, Norton - in the conference finals, Martin - in the divisional round.
Only Deion was so ahead of his time that he beat his future team, the Cowboys, the year before he joined them.
