Carmelo Anthony has retired from the NBA, ending his 19-year career as the league's ninth all-time leading scorer.

Anthony announced his retirement Monday, saying in a social media video that "the time has come for me to say good bye."

Anthony, who turns 39 next week, was a 10-time All-Star who scored 28,289 points over parts of 19 seasons with six different teams. He did not play this season and last played with the Lakers in 2021-22.
