Jonathan Taylor

News game out today that Colts superstar HB Jonathan Taylor has demanded a trade, as a colts fan this really pains me because I thought we had the next Edgerrin James.  I get that he wants to be paid a big contract that he's earned, but I just don't see it happening for him or any big-name backs that want a long term deal.

As much as I love watching them, RBs just don't hold up against today's massive defenders like they used to. And after seeing what happened to guys like Le'veon Bell and Ezekiel Elliott after they got big paydays, I don't think any RB is getting a big deal anytime soon.

We had a good run (no pun intended) with JT, but I don't think he'll be back

I went to the training camp on that day and I stay up with the colts because I’m a Hoosier and I don’t think that they’ll trade Jonathan. I think by they end of the year he gets an extension for like 2 or three years this offseason after him and Richardson get an elite run option game going. I do think josh jacobs becomes a free agent after this year though

I doubt he gets traded but it's a crappy situation for rbs right now. best case scenario for them is to get drafted round one play 5 years, get franchised twice. but even then that means they'll make 50ish million over the course of their entire careers, meanwhile qbs make 50 a year, receivers making almost 30, oline making more and playing longer. Safeties and linebackers are paid similarly but those guys can play 10+ years while RBs break down after 5-6 years of heavy usage.

Guys are either going to have to stop playing RB, or start load managing like basketball players to prolong their careers. It's a shit ton of money to normal people but when compared against their peers it's putrid
