Guess who's back, back again. After my first Mock Draft (you can see that HERE), several things have changed with Free Agency, Trades (Hello Carolina), and how I am doing this (Thanks PFF for putting your draft simulator behind a paywall.) Again, I will not be highlighting every thing but I will again make a few notes about why I did what I did. Am I right? Am I wrong? Let me know your thoughts as we inch closer to the draft!
My notes:
- Arizona is shopping that #3 pick, and with interest from Tennessee and Tampa Bay, they decide that Anderson is too good of a prospect to drop too far. They take less to allow the Colts to trade up 1 spot, guaranteeing the Colts their new QB, and guaranteeing Arizona will get Anderson.
- We know now that the floor for Jalen Carter is 10. My original mock had him falling to the Texans at 12, but with Chicago sliding down to 9, they will get the guy they could have drafted at 1 if they hadn't made that trade.
- I just can't see a world where the Patriots trade Mac Jones before opening night or where he isn't on the Patriots roster at the start of training camp. The thought of Levis slipping that far is tempting, but Belichick loves a trade down, and he does that to allow Tampa to select Levis.
- In this mock, I did not have Lamar getting traded before opening night, but that doesn't mean that the Ravens don't start planning for the future. They draft the 5th QB of the first round in Hendon Hooker.
