Not sure who's playing better defense, Joe Milton or the refs.
I didn’t even see that the Gators got a 13 point win until just now.
FL exposed TN as a team that is not Top 20 material.

TL;DR
I'm a massively biased Vols fan, but I'll readily admit that we haven't played like a top 25 team since last years Vanderbilt game. Joe Milton played horribly for most of the game, the supposed backfield monster of Jalen Wright, Jabari Small, and Dylan Sampson has disappeared. Outside of a few plays, the defense has been terrible on 3rd down. Aaron Beasley was the only good defensive player the past few games.
Now, not to play the blame game, but the officiating crew has been downright terrible this year. No excuses about Austin Peay, the refs could have all been Austin Peay alumni and UT still should have won by 30+
Now the Florida game last night, the crew was one of the worst I've ever seen. I saw all kinds of missed holding calls, bogus PI on Tennessee, uncalled PI against Tennessee. That awful "Blindside Block" on McCallen Castles, and the ref literally KICKING THE BALL on 4th and 1, which then allowed Florida to substitute in some massive linemen to stuff the run, was there a missed block? Yes. But still, that was an illegal move by the ref.
I've said since the draft that Tennessee wouldn't be as good this year, so I'm not surprised, losing high-impact guys like Hendon Hooker, Jalin Hyatt, Cedric Tillman, Princeton Fant, Byron Young, Darnell Wright, and Jeremy Banks is hard to recover from.
But its obvious Joe Milton isn't the guy, you need more than a rocket arm to be a good QB. I hope Nico Iamaieava gets to start this year at some point.
TL;DR
Tennessee sucks, refs are bad, I miss Josh Dobbs.

Well said. And I agree there were some horrific calls in that game. Hopefully TN gets it figured out. Would be nice to have more teams at the top to compete with GA, etc.

I hope we get things figured out, it'd be awful to only beat UTSA the rest of the season

Don't really need teams at the top to compete with GA with the way we're playing lol. The slow offensive starts are getting painful, and if Spencer Rattler had a half-decent O-line I don't think the 21 unanswered points would have been enough

Honestly thought you had a chance there and I was pulling for SC.

Eh I'm happy as long as my dawgs are on top. Guess it's more of a luxury than I realize to not be happy with a ten point victory, but that's college football for ya
