I am NOT a Tom Brady fan. As a Giants fan, and someone who has been around football for almost 50 years, I still believe Joe Cool is the best I ever saw. In both their primes, Joe was better under pressure and could actually move a bit too. He never lost a Super Bowl. But Tom has been a 7 time champ and statistically , he is the GOAT. Career-wise, he's the GOAT. Again, in their prime, I feel Montana was better but it does not take away from what Brady has accomplished.
But even in his prime, we saw what pressure (especially middle pressure) does to him. As evidenced by the Giants shutting him down in 2 Super Bowls with pressure. And now that he's older, he really shies away from it. I watched him this season and any hint of pressure and he unravels. You saw it against Dallas. Yeah he had really good overall numbers (cumulative numbers) this year , but you could see the decline in his play. Tom knows it too. He's been cranky in interviews, on his podcast, etc.
Again, I don't particularly like the guy but right now, he's the best of all time......but Father time can rapidly decline a skill set. Another year and he could get hurt, or go WAY downhill in his play. The guy should go out now, having made the playoffs and had a nice run in the 2022 season. Another year and his legacy will take a hit.
