The 49ers have traded Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys for just a 4th round pick, thoughts?

Maybe, but whats funny is the 49ers have essentially traded 3 1st rounders for a 4th rounder

Lets take a look at the trade the 9ers did to get lance:

9ers Receive: 2021 3rd ovr pick (Drafted Trey Lance)

Dolphins receive:

2021 1st Round Pick (Drafted Jaylen Waddle)

2022 1st Round Pick (Traded for Tyreek Hill)

2023 1st Round Pick and 2022 3rd Round Pick (Traded for Bradley Chubb)

The 49ers got fleeced like no other in this one

He's a good athlete, not the biggest bust and still has time to turn his career around (I'd be more concerned for his career if he had reports of substance abuse). I do think the 49ers massively overestimated his talent though when they drafted him, considering he played against FCS competition in college. Generally if you want a good quarterback you need to find one who's played against NFL-tier competition in college.

Yes, but there are a few exceptions, everyone forgets theat Trey Lance's fellow North Dakota State alumni Carson Wentz was elite for a few years before injuries, coaching turnover, lack of confidence got to him. Gotta feel bad for Wentz though, hes a great guy, and was a good qb in indy, they just let one or two bad games ship him off. hope Lance doesnt go the same route.

I think that they might play Trey lance if dak starts bad… I think he can be good in the right situation

tbh dont know why people r callin lance a bust when my guy only started 4 games. like lets be real guys...he hasnt done anything to be called a success but nor has he done anything to be called a bust. Yet.

Trey Lance is pretty crappy. Brock Purdy is so much better.
