QB with a good release can make a huge difference. Gunslinger is obviously the best ability for passing.  WR abilities help a lot getting open. Route tech, Deep out elite, and slot machine are good WR abilities. Try not to just go for the big play. Look for the open receiver.

John Mackey. His quick TE routes for huge first downs or much needed scores have been my saving grace since his last upgrade bolstered him to the top of my depth chart.

A lot of people like that John Mackey,  I’ve never personally used him though.
