Post count is not the only factor we look at.  And Zac is very active on the MUT.GG Discord, which we also take into consideration when picking a winner.  There are quite a few factors that go into our selection.

We are aware of the issue.  The workaround right now is to hold down the control key when you click on a thread to read.  That will open that thread in a new window, but keep your unread list intact.
