I totally agree with what ur saying. I’ve used this logic for a lot of other sets previously. But because I have I lions tt and I will use the 98’s and Barry for the entire year I am actually going to do this set.

Carl banks is a no go.. on the edge the most important stat is finesse move, and as you see his is terrible. Deion and moss are no brainers, but you should be able to buy them for less than the 98s. Herman Moore and Jerry rice are both only 99 speed on a theme team. They aren’t end game cards. not worth bnd.

If you’re married to a theme team is the only way to make sense of it. For anyone who switches theme teams or runs god squads it’s not a good idea investment wise.

I do Run a giants TT but I’m going to look closely at everything tomorrow and decide on the best way to go about this based on what you’ve said.

If 99s are cheaper than 98s.. it should be obvious that the better decision is to buy the players you want. The store offers should be crazy tomorrow, and some people spend money like mad men on this game.

You are 100% right in that sense. some mut seasons I’ve been a fan of doing sets for bnd and other seasons I like to just get the set champ for reasons you’ve said.

They are pumping out content too quick right now to bnd anyone.. if it was slow content we could chill with the players, but they aren’t letting up. its Brady then Mahomes or vick then stabler but Herbert, Lamar and Danny come… it’s incredible, and I’ve personally used almost all those qbs.. that’s the power of having cards worth coins.. you can interchange the position in the blink of the eye.

I’ve been doing similar the last few weeks just not exact same pool of players but I’ve been interchanging a lot of guys and I’ve definitely benefitted this season from using a lot of ltd’s and having the minimum value of the qs price was pretty awesome not gonna lie lol it made upgrading way easier all year long
frostybirdman said:How much are you really saving by buying the cards outright? I can see it if say, you only wanted the 99’s. Then sure, just buy those outright. But if you had a 98 you wanted, why would you pay the going rate for a 98 (or two) and then also pay the going rate for the 99? For example: I want Deion tomorrow. I also would like Woodson and Cunningham. I’m guessing 98’s will go for $650-750k similar to how the free agency set went. Initially anyway. So let’s say the 99’s then are gonna be listed at $1.5M. If I snipe my 98’s for 700k each, it’s gonna cost me 1.4M total for me to make Deion and have my two 98’s back BND. If I followed your rule of thumb, and got my two 98’s at the same price, then bought Deion at say 1.4M, now I’m at 2.8M spent for those 3 cards. Per the training/prices dashboard today, 98’s go for 571K. That’s 2.48/per. Unless you’re selling those 98’s before Easter eggs hatch, those 98’s will lose value, likely to 2/per or less when the market tanks. If you unloaded those two 98’s at 2/per, they’d sell for 460k/each, so $920k total. So if you kept the 99 you purchased, your total invested is now $1,880,000 (480k loss from selling 98’s plus 1.4M cost of the 99.) So in your scenario you would still spend more coins doing it your way, not save coins. $1.88M buying vs 1.4M building. You may can argue the training value of a full 98 vs a BND 98, but even then, who is paying over market value for a 98 just to quick sell for training.
Want to know your mistake really fast?
Go look how much the 98 Game Changers are and then look at how much the 96's are.
98 = 600-640
96 = 220 each

It really depends on the set
i spent all weekend making fa sets for like 940k and selling the card between 930-970k
for the most part it was about 1:1 training ratio, that’s where I come in for team set makers
as long as the set is actually profitable, do it lol
Only worth it if yoyou actually want the 98s. in my case, Rice would be end year on my squad unless he somehow got a 99 down the road which i doubt
Perfect example of this
I only wanted 2 cards from the FA promo White n Beckham. The set would've cost me 2 mil just for White cause Beckham is now on the bench, but instead I can sell Beckham rn for 750k. I probably could've used 2 98's but besides Beckham I didn't think any would last very long n now look at Beckham he already being sold back. 🤔

Oh, absolutely.
If 600k worth of cards makes you someone that's 900k that you can sell? Do it.
If 600k worth of cards makes a 900k that's BND? Don't do it.
It really just depends on your team, and what you are trying to do with your team. If you are a player that is always upgrading your team all the time, they should do your plan.
If you are a die hard Seattle Theme Team guy like myself, then doing the set and getting two BND guys back makes sense since two of the 98 guys fit my TT and will most likely be end-game cards for me. And obviously the 99 card would be end-game also.
So for my team, the set would be cheaper, and makes more sense since these are end-game cards for my team. There is no guarantee that I will get better players down the road that fit my TT in those positions..

That was said about Kelce and Kelce.
They each had 97's and TOTY came out and what do they do?
ROLL OUT 98 CARDS!
Never think that any card is end game until Madden 24.
