Just getting demolished. Getting really sick of it

I've tried coming out in man align as a default, I've tried base aligning, pressing, not pressing, hitting man align etc, and there's always the potential that coverage just gets screwed by getting snapped before you can adjust properly. That's before you get to the issue of things like corners, posts, slants, drags etc beating you either over the top or from underneath and then getting in space considering the lack of coverage. You have any thoughts on any of this?
Cover 0 definitely a big risk this year its not super tough to beat. I usually always throw a hard flat or a curl flat out somewhere just to get them to hold an extra second for the sack but will still send 5-6 blitzers and bluff with the user. I tried cover 3 match, and too often a deep third will freeze of come down on an in breaking route. No huddle isn't as bad as it was early but I always kept 2 man under in my audibles just in case i panicked and didn't know what to do i could just mash X, X and I wouldnt give up the big plays.
The biggest thing is just switching it up based on the opponents formations. when I play vs bunch i like to have a hard flat 20, curl flat 5, and a deep 3rd on that side because the most common concept in the game is a streak, corner, flat, with this defense all 3 of those are covered, it also does a decent job against bunch verticals. Vs Trips TE sometimes i go man aligned to bring the corner over to help vs RPOs, vs tight formations i like cover 2 pressed. it doesn't always work great but finding kind of a set of rules and playing to them so that wherever the opening in the defense is you can cover it with your user. but again, vs a hurry up, it's either base 2 man under, or base cover 2, usering the middle-middle third. Big plays will happen you just gotta limit them as much as possible.
Really sucks when my opponent throws into double and triple coverage and i don't get an interception lol. Sucks even more when you get a sack and then on 2nd and 3rd down they throw into coverage and my guys don't pick it. then on 4th and 25, they get a 1st down lmao. Multiple times he threw to my Pick Artist Primetime and multiple times, he didn't catch it. This was with a safety and another CB around him. Amazing
Defense is definitely tougher this year. Even with one of the best teams, I find myself getting burned on long crossers

Lol yeah this crap happens a lot. The worst throws ironically might not get picked off because the 2-3 defenders going after the ball might bounce off of each other or the CPU might swat with the other defender and prevent my easy pick etc

I've played a lot of games on both old and current gen and it's absolutely a current gen issue. As you said... defense is very good on old gen. Most games against skilled opponents will be 20-40 total points scored in a game. Although last night I beat a guy 46-45 in my first real barn burner of the year (in over 300 Seasons games).
We both had multiple beaters versus each other's schemes and just couldn't get stops. My opponent was a good player... we're both Top 50 on old gen and have similar records so it was super fun. But I feel like that's the typical game on current gen whether your opponent is good or not. On old gen... if you're not a good player with a decent squad... you are getting deservedly blown out in the first quarter. But EA has achieved what they set out to do a few years back... Little Timmy feels like he can compete against anyone because the skill gap has been narrowed significantly. In the end the better player usually wins but even games against bums can turn into sweats (especially with DDA).
On current gen, defense is simply too difficult... offense is too easy.

Exactly man. What’s your GT? I’m on PS4 as well but I’ve only played 25 games in all pro seasons. I’m 22-3 with 2 Super Bowl wins but I’ve been playing champs mostly for CP. I honestly like the old gen version of the game better. I could easily get a PS5 but I don’t like how the players move man. On old gen you can user and actually bait people into throwing interceptions. It’s a lot harder on new gen from what I’ve heard.

I'm on Xbox bruh... but I play the old gen version of the game on my XBox Series X console. Every so often I get the itch to make the move to current gen because I know our days on the old gen version are limited. But every time I do... I end up going back to the old gen version because I really miss being able to user. I honestly don't think the current gen version of the game is playable (at least not for me).
Granted my team on current gen isn't great... it sucks that EA changed things up from last year where you essentially have two different accounts but it is what it is. My current gen account is truly NMS... while my old gen account is AMS (all money spent).
