My issue is I load into every game and am expecting my opponent to run stretch and RPOs, and onside kick me. So much so, that I'm actually shocked when I get a "normal" opponent.
Gone are the days where I'm facing an opponent will actually dot me up and selectively choose plays. Those are the games I enjoyed playing, the ones I miss. Ultimately, that's what's pushing me out the door and making this my last Madden. Sucks because I really enjoy the competitive nature, but not the unskilled bs.

I have a far easier time believing that the game is simply a buggy ass, inconsistent mess, which is what many of us are seeing and experiencing and not something outright as nefarious as DDA, but obviously i have no proof to back up either position, merely speculation and anecdotal experiences.

I don't think the definition of cheating in real life games is the exact same as video games. In real life, you have to break the rules either do something outside the boundaries or bring something foreign into the boundary. For video games, I'd argue it's more akin to having the game play for you, while hacking is a different level. It's honestly such an issue that if you gave the players a choice of dealing with that nonsense or just having a 10% chance every game of getting booted and receiving the loss, they'd take the latter in a heartbeat.
But again, I think this issue rapidly gets better if people en masse started bullying the piss out of any loser doing these things.

It says the game is ridiculously inconsistent and hardly in any state that even closely resembles fair, balanced, let alone competitive gameplay. Happens ALL the darn time, where the skill gap is obvious and massive, but for whatever reason, the randomness and inconsistencies cause bad breaks... over and over and over. I lose to inferior opponents on a semi-regular basis and those are some of THE worst losses, but i don't know that i'd blame it on any type of dynamic difficulty adjustment.
I think the much more likely scenario is that we're seeing EA's incompetence, sheer laziness (and obviously greed) shining through, which makes for a piss poor end-user experience. Dudes only need to get lucky 1 in 4 plays to keep drives moving. I don't blame anyone for thinking this way or assuming DDA and there's a non-zero chance you guys may be right.
I've poked through the patent classification documents, it's kind of a lot to go through, but has anyone considered trying to reach out to the inventors? Maybe someone could get a comment from them -- it's crazy how accessible most folks make themselves in the modern era. How or why do we think EA could pull off any type of appropriate DDA system, especially considering they cannot even seem to figure out the basics, such as pass catching on either side of the ball, or stamina/fatigue. If some expert developers worked at EA 5+ years ago and implemented all of this and it has remained unchanged since those days, maybe this is feasible, but i've seen no evidence that EA is capable of even the smallest or slightest changes or improvements to their bad game(s), why should DDA be any different? I think we're giving them FAR too much credit here.

1. The season passes are bad.

Rewards are bad.
3. There is no Weekend League.
4. Dollar defense stops the run against jumbo sets.
5. WR stops their routes randomly
6. WR running out of bounds while running their route
7. I personally dont care for the animations, especially the animations-basee pocket movement with your QB
8. Using the sprint button on offense attracks your opponents defenders to shed blocks. I dont understand EAs logic behind that. When a RB is carrying the ball its "see hole, explode (sprint) through hole"....but not in John Madden football.
9. Speed gets nerfed, whenever the game says so.
10. Animations are awful and need to go away. Why? Because it takes away user movement. User movement is a big part separating skill.
11. Hard to layer passes over linebackers. As I've mentioned before, the spacing and ball trajectory need to be revamped. Concepts like "stick" should be easier and spread out more to make them more effective, especially when EA has a limited pass rush block shed timer. Most say EA won't give you time to throw deep very often. Its true from my experience. Thats fine, because deep 1-play TDs rarely happen in real football. However, i believe shorter passing concepts should be given more room. To me, the field seems really condensed for these concepts to be effective. Stick, slant-flat, etc...
Lots of things wrong and lots of incompetence running the show. Unfortunately, its all the NFL has given the masses to play.

DDA isn’t in online gameplay. People literally went to court trying to sue ea and couldn’t prove anything.

SO sad, but oh so very true. I used to think this was just the low level competition i tend to find myself matched up or playing against, until i watched the MCS Finals and saw Henry face an eerily similar RPO-cheese style opponent. Simulation fatball, my left buttcheek. This is exactly as you described, zero hope of anything even resembling fair, balanced, let alone competitive gameplay, at this point in the game it's simply knowing which route combinations will cause the defense to dumb out, or not properly play pass coverage.
People show up here saying "because my cornerback got torched five times in a row, there must be DDA!" which is truly unfortunate, it's almost certainly the simple fact that they were trying to play Man Press coverage, perhaps even against a Megatron (or any receiver with Double Me X-factor ability) which will cause an insta-win off the line of scrimmage every single time. But you can't learn this type of information casually playing the game, EA certainly isn't ever going to tell us that Man coverage is basically broken, don't use it, because you're just asking for your DBs to get cooked.
Then again, the whole damn game is one huge design error, bug and/or problem at this point, needs to be entirely re-written from the ground up, hopefully with a game engine that's NOT from 2008. Sadly, this isn't feasible given the yearly release cycle (and sheer incompetence from EA Devs and/or management). I wish i were kidding, but EA is still using Frostbite to the best of my knowledge, which was originally from early PS3 generation, literally 15+ years ago.
