Thoughts on momentum/stadium effects?

IMO it’s one of the worst features in the game. It logically doesn’t make sense. Momentum is a psychological effect, we already feel it after throwing a bad pick or going down 2 TDs - what’s the point of the weird arcade effects.

The effects are also totally ridiculous, like the one where you can’t see your receivers icons more than 5 yards or where your team gets knocked out of the zone - which depending on the meta makes it impossible to comeback. It kills the fun of old madden or real football of coming back after you’ve finally figured out your opponents strat

If your opponent gets full momentum then you suck.

Opponent gets the ball first, scores, and you throw a pick it’s full momentum already. I’ve been up 7-3 and had full momentum

Ruined it completely if it was just abilities & x-factors it’d be cool but it really does mess it up when you have guys make a comeback using it after you been destroying them

If I return a sky kick to the 29, I shouldn’t take a momentum penalty. But I do, because Madden.

The better players manipulate momentum, and if you can hit key benchmarks early with an early stop and a score, the game can run away in a way that doesn’t happen in the real NFL.

Some of them can be pretty annoying to play against. But I don't think most of them are any worse than most of the nonsense abilities and xfactors provide. I tend to have the mindset that it's my fault if my opponent gets full momentum. I just need to figure out what I need to do better.

I guess you could say I'm indifferent about momentum. I don't think I would care if EA removed it. But I also wouldn't be mad if it returned in future entries but perhaps less impactful.
