is running the clock in a close game in the 3rd qtr strategy or a simp move?
You would think a football game would have more Honorable players but I feel this game has more shortcut/cheesers than any other online community…..

I don’t think it’s bad. If your opponent doesn’t like what your doing, then they should stop it.
The clock it there for a reason. Use it.
Some people run the clock because they have limited time and try and make the games go quicker
It is a strategy as you are strategically using up more time on the clock while on offense so your opponent has less time to score.
In the third , heck no
in the first? Only if you gotta use the restroom
Some peeps with no talent on either side of the ball run it from the start of the game so no imo you are good.
Not at all. That’s football
I wouldn‘t say that’s bad in any quarter as long as you use the chew clock setting. Heck the whole point of smash mouth football is to control the time of possession.
Nah controlling the clock is a valid strategy
Doing it with an X-Factor back is pretty cringe not gonna lie… 🤷🏽♂️

“That’s football” that’s interesting I don’t see and nfl team running the clock all game but seems like you’re in the majority.
Thanks for your input bud

Yeah most of the time I see it is with X factor running backs, sometimes 2 of them… cringe is a good word for it. Feels like they’re mad desperate for a win…

Even at the start of the third qtr with X factor running backs?? Really??
damn growing up it was known to be a really messed up thing to do and one way not to get invited to the games anymore… guess things have changed?

It’s obviously situational and depends on your scheme but I have quite literally never heard any team or players complain about that in my life. Only some madden players seems to whine about it.
Most coaches I’ve had have instilled in me the fact that clock control and time of possession is key within a ground and pound offense. It limits the opponents opportunities, wears down their defense, and saves your defenses energy. Whether you realize some teams purposely chew clock or not, they do as long as their run game is productive. Just off the top of my head Jim Harbaugh‘s 49ers/Wolverines and Belichick’s Patriots are great examples.
