My 8 yr old and I Banned from auction house!

My 8 (9 this month. :) ) year old son and I play Madden together. I have been trying to get him into the MUT part this year.

I run a Titans Theme Team. He just tries to get the best players that he can.

During the Zero chill promo they had like 3 new Titans LTD drop (not sure why EVERYYYYY SINGLE good Titans player has been LTD the past 2 years!). So, I sold him the best players I had available (since they don't allow trading anymore) in order to get the extra coins I need to pick up D Henry, Moss and Moss (CB). EA puts the auction cap in place so you can only charge whatever THEY DEEM "okay" so it isn't like I sold a 75 OVR for 1 million.

They banned BOTH of us from the Auction House (also received an email saying they would wipe our coics) because of Coin purchasing or whatever they call it and/or whatever else.

I'm trying to enjoy time with my SON. Not create a god squad etc. I'm about to be done with Madden altogether after this. No point in playing and especially not if the two of us can't even spend time playing a GAME

Did you sell them to him for their normal price?

What's 'normal"? A couple of them didn't have any on the market and EA's own Auction House only ALLOWS up to a certain value per card.

I sold them for their highest ALLOWED price -  PER EA

Can you give an example?

At least your son learned a valuable lesson at a young age (EA sucks lol)

I don't remember the specfics but it was like an 89 William Teller for the allowed 89k or whatever was the allowed (maybe 125k)

K9 AKA 91 OVR for 200k 

Things like that. They don't let you sell GOLDs for 100k etc. Every card has a cap value THEY allow you to sell it for

Just playing devil's advocate here, but if you look at it from EA's perspective, the bots that patrol the auction house for violations have no idea that it's your own son who you are selling the cards to.  They just see multiple transactions between the same two accounts where cards are being sold for 2 - 3 times their average price.  Even though it seems harmless and innocent, it really is a violation of TOS.

Exactly this unfortunately. And it sucks, but that's exactly how the bots are going to see it. If a card on average sells for 100k but has a max of 500k, and there is 1 sold at 500k, it's going to look suspicious even though it fits in their "range" for selling. Hate that for you OP but that is my best guess of what happened. You can try to appeal to EA Help but I am not sure how that will go.

Good luck, my man -- i've suffered from similar automated bot bans, in fact i'm now going through my second auction house ban of the MUT `24 cycle.  And heard it also happened to many folks last year, as well.  This is absolutely absurd.  EA hates it when anyone does anything to profit.  And there's very little recourse here, EA "Help" will eventually say they're going to perform a manual review of the account, but i've never once heard them actually do anything or determine that a ban was made in error, so basically no chance of them overturning it there.

However, you can write to EA's legal department (via certified mail) and ask for a Binding Arbitration hearing.  They won't want to do any actual work, so i suspect at that point they'll overturn it.  However, i'm definitely not qualified to give legal advice, i just know what worked for me and how i managed to get my initial ban overturned.  I'll certainly keep you posted if/when i'm able to regain auction house access.

Don't stress over the coins, they never stripped mine, although they said they were going to.  We also got Madden so I could play together with my 10 year old son, but i've hesitated from getting him into the Ultimate Team stuff, as i'm not sure how i feel about the casino for kids, pay to win style game mechanics.  I've come to terms with Fortnite, we buy skins, i prefer the cosmetic items.  Just my two cents.

I've got a template somewhere i can dig up if you want help drafting a letter to legal, was posted originally to my own thread complaining about the same/similar situation.  You are not alone.

EA Help is not the answer.  The best they can offer is a "manual review" of the account(s) in question, but i've never once seen them overturn a ban.  I doubt they even perform any type of review, it's always the same canned responses and they'll uphold the ban in 99.9% of instances, at least based on my limited experience here.  And unfortunately, i've acquired more than most.

EA is driving away their actual customers.  The legit coin sellers will always just create new accounts, they're not dumb -- they don't keep tons of coins on a single account, knowing full well they'll ultimately get banned, but by the time EA has caught them, they've already created tons more new accounts.  It's a losing game of whack a mole, meanwhile we, the average consumer are made to suffer.

EA chooses to enforce these horrendous policies, just liek they chose to take away the Trade Block.  If the game wasn't so pay to win, there wouldn't be all these secondary, for-profit markets popping up everywhere.  Don't try to gift anyone something, that'll also get you removed from AH.

I’ve had EA help overturn my ban from last july. I threatened to not buy the new madden and that did it. I was banned for selling a Donald parham GT for like 4 mil when they halved the TVP to basically provide unlimited coins and the market was basically unlimited

Not gonna lie threatening that did nothing.  They just mass overturned the bans last year that were caused by the 1/2 price packs not because you threatened to not buy the new madden. They honestly don’t care about your singular 60-100$ and it’s sad they don’t care about their customers.  Unfortunately for the OP he did it without knowing but yeah that’s definitely gonna trigger a ban especially doing it over and over. They don’t care if it’s between your son or if you were buying coins
