We were getting free all madden masters, multiple free legends, multiple most feared masters, there were a lot of top tier free budget cards like the hispanic cards. i used foster until most feared and he was great. comp pass cards too
as of late, with the disappearance of free legend packs and solos/sets the NMS grind has come to halt.
luckily i invested and used these budget cards when it was NMS time to shine and i’ve got 15m to show for it now but if you started the game in the last month, being NMS would be extremely tough
the darren waller, isaac bruce and most feared limited season events were also amazing for us NMS players (if you were good at the game). i won 4 waller, 5 most feared events and 1 isaac bruce event which got me coins id never earn last MUT. that is about 3-5m right there alone
also with NMS though, you don’t need guys like sherman. i have the 92 and he gets cooked the same as my free woolen did. You can have a decent team with the BND cards, Woolen and Evans FS are two great corners to use, cards like ed reed who is 160k can out perform the 500k sean taylor, just know the players to get the best value and let your playstyle work over your ops
blamppp said:if you have been in legend with a NMS team what more do you really want? you are kinda letting people brainwash you man, legend and some superbowls is about all you going to get out of the mode anyway? how are you not keeping up? it's people with full top players at every position that don't get legend.
im starting to fall behind in terms of useable cards, part of it was changing consoles to nextgen, but with there being basically no NMS coin methods at the moment, its hard to get descent players, i currently have just 5 90+ cards on my team (Terminator, Berry, Strahan, McLaurin, Vick) and that makes it significantly harder. Although i will say ive been using a bnd totw Sam LaPorta and there is no way on earth that card is only an 82, he has been ridiculous, mossing 90+ovr CBs like nothing.

falling behind is all in your mind, those top tier cards don't perform any better, i've used them, that aaron donald plays exactly like the lower tier version or worse, i've used every top tier card, none of them have made a major difference at all, absolutely none of them.

Two words: speed kills.
My fastest player i think is 91 and then everyone else is sub 90.

if speed kills so much how come 88 bruce smith had a billion more sacks for me than 92 leonard floyd, I have jevon kearse 92 on my team right now, this card has literally not made a play, what position is speed killing so good for you in? cuz it don't for me. i've tried every fastest player in the game, none of them have been more impressive then lower speed counterparts at all. what card that has this speed is killing it?
CTOUGH23 said:IMO you can be NMS and do fine IF you are willing to spend an enormous amount of time on the game - somewhat how it's always been but I do agree they have made it next level harder this year with nerfed rewards and an increased focus on the pay to play cards being far and away the best in the game
yep exactly... To anyone with a life Time > Money
If I have a couple hours a day (at most) to play a game, I'm not grinding solos.... and with how bad the gameplay has gotten, I won't spend any money on Madden Points.
MUT has gotten so bad it's not worth the time or the money play.
The football gaming community needs a new game.
EA needs some competition in the market to show them what a football sim game should look like in 2023. A few years into 'NEXT GEN" and we're still stuck in EA's money making circle with no big improvements to the game.
Not sure I agree. Yes, packs are worse than ever and almost all store offers this year require cash. That sucks. But grinding drops alot of high cards. My Vick is at 91, my Moss at 92, Barry Sanders 90, just unlocked 91 Darren Woodson. And I'm probably forgetting a few, such as the Captains.

Some cards definitely play faster than the card says, but for example my WRs are 91 Terry, 88 Megatron, and 87 waddle, so I have son breakaway speed and just have to dink and dunk down the field, as opposed to my opponent where I usually have to drop 3-4 safties deep every play just to avoid getting bombed. Speed isn't everything but it certainly helps.
def rough for nms this yr lol its like EA just forgot about us. i get it you are a business EA , make your money but where in the hell is the content for nms? where is the gauntlet? where is the journey? where is the forge? etc etc etc
blamppp said:i'll play you right now with an 87 overall squad, and I bet you lose unless you use some type of top 1-2 youtube meta offense/defense. 6-1/bunch etc. in which case you don't need the top players anyway. the game just isn't consitent, it's dice roll match up's, bad hb's and wr's beat top tier db's all the time.
Blah blah blah

they do fall behind when it comes to abilities and ability discounts lol

Speed absolutely kills at any/all skill positions. I went straight degenerate on kids over the long Thanksgiving weekend, running 99 OVR John Madden at TE1. No DBs in the entire game could keep up. Streak, bomb. Streak, bomb. So many rage quits, i actually felt bad. It definitely matters, but beyond SPD, so few of these stats actually matter. Kids going bonkers in comments thread about how "Josh Allen has low TAK/POW, he's gonna get killed in the run game" and other similar terrible takes, OOF. Only the competitive MCS folks should be caring about finding those last few percentage points of efficiencies.
Broadly speaking, the keys for online H2H play remain fairly consistent -- just sit back and allow your opponent to beat themselves. Unfortunately there is something to be said for everyone who has mentioned how inconsistent gameplay has been this (and most years in recent memory), far too much is left to RNG dice-rolls. Do my D-linemen shed? RNG. However, KO abilities on defense remain our last great hope. Overall, defense is just far too squishy.
If the goal is to have fun, well EA is coming up way short, as per usual. NMS is ridiculously difficult most years, but things are more pay to win than they've ever been and show no signs of changing. I tried to give up and just walk away, yet here i am, constantly crawling back due to the fact that we have zero other NFL simulation options available.
