If you have millions of coins, absolutely. You wont need a new qb till 98+.
For most people, its too much time and/or coins to sink and you have a lot of acceptable qbs in the meantime.

I've seen it light up at the 8 yard line but theoretically yeah, it's supposed to work near the goal line. But when a team gets close I'll swap him in. What exact yard line will I swap him in? It's just a feel thing, as the game flows
But yes it's supposed to light up closer to the goal line than the 20. Was sort of a generalization I was making....more about the concept than the exact yard line
No card is worth that. Learn to read and throw quicker and most 90+ QB's get the job done far cheaper.
Just picked him up. I like that I am set at QB until 2023 unless EA releases a QB at year end like Zero Chill Henry from last year. If nothing else, QB is set for at least the next 10 weeks.

I'll play how I want and you play how you want. I don't have a budget. I don't care how much a card costs. If I want it I'll pick it up or build it.
Elway's the best QB in the game. I don't want to 'get the job done". I'm not Henry or Noah . I want to have fun and use a QB that's great to play with

Since when does using the best players mean you can't make reads? Did I write anywhere that you need to have Elway to win or to have fun playing the game? I don't think so.
I may not have the reflexes I once did now that I'm in my 50's....and I don't study YouTube cheese or e books foe glitches and money plays but as far as football knowledge, reading a defense, adjusting....I'm all good in that department.
Honestly what's the point of a post like yours? Do you feel u need to take shots at those of us who have cards like Elway? You think you're better because you don't "have to" use Elway? I don't either. My latest Super Bowl run was made with Bledsoe and won with Culpepper. Really man, why so salty???

Go play him in h2h 5 times.... in the hands of a semi- decent player that card will rip you apart. With the right chem, strat card, and abilities, he has the fastest release that's ever been in any Madden game ever...and yes I have played them all. Since year 1. 99 throw power. Fastest release in the game. Fearless ability so flawless under pressure (97 TUP anyway). No way you hold a decent player down in H2h who has Elway at QB. Unless you're Henry posting as someone else here.

All you can "confirm" is that the person you played wasn't that good. It's not like the CPU was controlling the card.
Play someone that knows how to use him. Have rattled off 7 in a row and 9 of 10 since using him in H2h seasons. My one loss was on a DC and I was up 7-0. I'm an ok player but I usually win like 70-75% of the time.

It sort of does matter......sure, there are CPU glitches, but you can use real strategy in Madden to your advantage. You can set up plays....If I keep running out of a certain formation using Carrmichael as a decoy or Metzelaars or Delanie, eventually my opponent brings down his safeties or plays the flats on outside runs....I audible to play action and go over the top or at least a nice chunk route to one of them. I'll use different looks to keep my opponent guessing....same looks but different plays ( outside run, deep ball, slant, etc)....which Elway makes VERY easy with HRM. I can run any combination out of any formation.
I get what you are saying...Madden is definitely not a good sim......but I can still employ real football strategy and hope for the best!
BTW I love these guys saying they played against Elway or some other card like a HB or something, saying the card isn't good......like the card is in control and not the player. Because people who go into H2h let the CPU control heir QB right? You can have a QB with ALL 99s , the best traits and abilities, unlimited AP, and still suck with the card. It's the PLAYER not the CARD (excuse me, EA, not card - "Player item"). You can't judge a card until you've seen it in the hands of someone who knows how to use it properly.
