I used to agree...but take a different view now. This is a video game and will never be "real" football. For those of us who love "real" football we will need to put down the controller, gather some friends (strangers will also work) and go outside and play. As far as OOP cards in a video game...sure they are good, but no better then any other card at that OVR. It is simply a picture and a bunch of numbers (most of which don't matter). There are issues with this video game...OOP cards would be very low on the list of problems.

So if someone writes a long paragraph, is it too much for you to handle? It's called having a conversation. It's ok to say more than 2-3 words and your head won't explode if you take a few minutes to read it

There have been people on here saying that they find OOP fun.
I am not one of those people.
I find it annoying when William Perry is one of the fastest and best QB in the game. He is not that fast and does not have the throw power he was given in this game!
I find it annoying that I spend time playing and shopping in the auction house to build a team and get decent OLBs, then they release a QB as one of the best OLBs. QB Josh Allen would not be able to play OLB at the stats he was given in this game!
I prefer to not have OOP players. But there must be a lot of people who like them because they are buying packs and spending coin like crazy in the auction house.

We want realism and skill and every year around xmas oop ruins the game, you can add it to the list of hundreds of things ea doest wrong but it will never change. Some of yall would use a hitler card if the stats were good. Stop being madden players and become football players.
I wouldn't want a Hitler card but would consider using Genghis Khan.
If he could decapitate all other OOP players and leave them in a bloody pile on the field.....Hell Yeah!
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

i agree completely. While I understand MUT is not meant to be "realistic" I think a lot of people play MUT for the team building aspect of playing an x's and o's realistic football game. MUT is not meant to be superstar mode which is what it becomes with some of these ridiculous OOP. I like the idea of having CJ Stroud throw to Andre Johnson on a Texans theme team.
As far as a lot of people liking OOP because they are buying packs and spending coin on them, I'm not sure if it's the OOP or the fact that these players are just so much better than the other drops at that position. I think its the latter. The whales spend on must have players and because EA keeps making the OOP the best cards people spend on them and that's all you see on the top teams. Compare Gronk OOP to the LTD Warner. These cards were released at similar times but the Gronk card is head and shoulders better than Warner in every category so people chase him. If you flipped that and gave Warner Gronk's stats and Gronk was Warner, guess what, people would chase Warner and use Warner. Perry is the best QB, Allen was the best User LB when he was released before EA fabricated Carmichael and Peppers OOP. Pacheco was the best SS at the time....EA has chosen to turn this into a game where players names mean nothing and its arcade football. Like others, it's when I lose interest and move on to another game which is sad because we're not even finished with the NFL regular season.

OOP Players existing are absolutely NOT the issue. This is a videogame. If you want to crap on people and be all "rah rah get with real football" go play connected franchise, or normal h2h. Or just, I dunno.. don't play the gamemodes that are meant to be a little more out there in the first place. It's called ultimate team.
But, to concede to your point a bit, the WAY oop cards are is stupid. I remember when oop cards had clear drawbacks, or were situational. OOP cards in general not being the best cards at the game but great at specifics. I think SOMETIMES it's a little fun to be silly with it, like the years with Walter Payton at QB, or Bo at every position one year..
But William Perry with Vick-like speed, a cannon of an arm, great accuracy? What the hell? OOP Carmichael, Peppers, and gronk just outright being the best cards at their position in the game being able to do EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING?
TLDR; OOP isn't the problem, it's how the OOP cards themselves are. Some are honestly completely fine like the Calvin CB. But these oop cards that are busted are basically golden ticket cards in December and are so stupidly good you would be actively hurting yourself by not using them if you can afford them as they have no drawbacks AND the advantage of having some out of position stat advantages (such as height, weight, trucking, catching all being wildly higher than normal cards at the same position)
100%

The reason mut exist is for those cards to be able to Work.

Honestly tho, when people type like that, what's the reason? There is no way you can take a person that types like they are on mushrooms serious and the conversation is pretty much done. I feel like it takes more effort typing like that than it does to just type like a human being

This mostly. OOP players should physically be the same as the normal position player. What kills MUT overall is the speed race and compression. every player, even big ones, being the same ridiculous speed kills strategy.
Yea, also not a fan of the OOP players. One of my least favorite aspects of the game among many others and I don't get why EA thinks it was a good idea to massively expand the program this year. Just seems lazy and caters to a group of players who probably can't recognize half the names of the older legends or lesser-known current players. Much easier to sell Gronk, OBJ, Vick, Moss 10 different times than to convince somebody that this dude who played 40 years ago should be one of the best players in the game, because at the time he played he was literally one of the best players in real life. I do still enjoy the strategy element of the game, learning patterns and working on reaction time, but the OOP phase cannot be over soon enough. Unfortunately, when they make these guys the best players, you basically have to use them to have a competitive team. That said I am looking forward to Campus heroes, playoffs, NFL draft and all the other more realistic promos to come.
